Masterabeit zum Thema "Ökobilanzielle Betrachtung einer Hochtemperatur-Elektrolyse"

Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, eine HTEL inklusive der zugehörigen Peripherie im Hinblick auf die Umweltauswirkungen zu bilanzieren. Dieser Arbeit liegt die Methodik der Ökobilanz, auch Life Cycle Assessments genannt, zugrunde, welche in ISO 14040 und 14044 beschrieben ist. Zur Durchführung der Ökobilanz stehen die GaBi-Software und Lizenzen zu Ökobilanzdatenbanken wie ecoinvent 3.5 und GaBi Professional zur Verfügung. Aufgrund der benötigten Lizenzen ist eine zeitweilige Anwesenheit in Straubing notwendig.

Master thesis - Physical activity whilst and after study enrolment of Dialysis training therapy

Master thesis Dialysis Training – Therapy (DiaTT) is an interventional, cluster-randomized (1:1), multicenter trial for patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis (n=1,100). This trial will test the effectiveness (by change of sit-to-stand test between baseline and 12 months) of intradialytic exercise training (ET) and health literacy counseling (HLC) for 12 months (Intervention group) in comparison to control group (usual care, UC; no ET, no HLC). The substudy will analyze the physical activity patterns during the last phase of study enrolment in patients (n=200) randomized 1:1 to either control or interventional group by accelerometry/ pedometers. The physical activity off hemodialysis (leisure time/ time between hemodialysis sessions) will be assessed. Three months after the end of the study, patients’ physical activity patterns will again be analyzed. The evaluation of the data aims at analyzing physical activity patterns (measured whilst and after study enrolment for 7 consecutive days) for different subgroups.

HiWi position in computational biology

HIWI Position in Bioinformatics Single cell genomics is revolutionizing biology and medicine. Rapid technological advances now allow the profiling of genomes, transcriptomes and epigenomes at an unprecedented level of resolution. To harness the full potential of these developments, new computational methods specifically tailored towards the analysis of single cell omics data are essential. This has now also been appreciated with the nomination “technology of the year 2019” by the journal Nature Methods. Our research group employs state-of-the-art single cell sequencing technologies (10x Genomics, BD Rhapsody) to unravel the dynamics of the human immune system. We currently look for a motivated HiWi-student in the area of bioinformatics/computational biology who contributes in a team effort to unravel the development of the aging human immune system and to discover novel immune cell subsets that could be exploited for successful vaccination strategies. We have scRNAseq data sets from 10x Genomics available and need you for data analysis using already implemented bioinformatic pipelines under the guidance of a postdoc. Job: HIWI-Position, 5h/week (more or less hours also possible, flexible, home office possible) Qualifications: Applicants should be students of bioinformatics/computational biology and be highly motivated to contribute to single-cell RNA-seq data analyses and preparation of manuscripts for publication. WHOOP WHOOP HELIOP! Public Relations in Economy and Academics: A viral Approach

Background: A challenging aspect of sharing and visualizing academic topics, like the project HELIOP - Helicopter Ship Deck Operations, is related to its content and presentation in an eye catching and good to understand way. The project HELIOP focuses on helicopter offshore operations and how to navigate and land on a moving ship deck, because of limited navigation capabilities due to the open sea and influences of the moving landing zone on pilot performance. To reduce pilot workload and increase flight safety during navigation, descent, and landing maneuver, a pilot fitted presentation of the outside world events and helicopter was designed and implemented to the helicopter flight simulator Rotorcraft Simulation Environment – ROSIE via a Helmet Mounted Display - HMD.

Working Student (m/f/d), Bachelor or Master Thesis in Optics – LiDAR Straylight Research

LiDAR systems measure distances by stopping the time a laser pulse needs to travel from the sensor to an object and back. By conducting more than 1 Million distance measurements per second, a 3D point cloud of the surroundings of the sensor can be created in real time.As outdoor applications are a main focus, the system has to work well in bright sunlight and under various lightning conditions. Our LiDAR is designed to supress such effects. To validate this, a test stand has to be designed and programmed.
